This course is for beginners and those who would like to become active crew members rather than just passengers
Course format
The Competent Crew course consists of 5 days and intends to train the Candidate as a crew member and enable them to understand and carry out every order given by the Skipper.
There is no required previous knowledge. This is the course that introduces the beginner to cruising and teaches how to move safely and steer to the level required for a crew member.
Where
The sailing area is the Archipelago of Pontine Islands, Ischia, Capri, and Amalfi Coast, around 15 miles offshore from our base on Procida island.
Training Boats
Elan 40 is a 12-meter cruising racer with three cabins and two heads. Each cabin has a fan. The boat is in MCA commercial coding.
Duration
5 days, boarding from 18:00 on Sunday – the day before the course starts – disembarking on Saturday at 10.00, your accommodation on board on Sunday & Friday evening is also included

There are two options with training courses: a private course (you hire your yacht and have your dedicated instructor) or the more traditional course structure of a mixed individuals course. We are more than happy to teach different courses (Competent Crew & Day Skipper) on the same yacht if you have a crew of mixed experience. There are no prerequisites for this course

Course Fee Individual
Join the course with other students. We like to teach a maximum of 3/4 people at a time as we feel it gives each student extra attention and time from the instructor. Each student has a single-occupancy cabin.
